Since 2013, the Ceramics Museum in Weiden has been exhibiting selected pieces from the Munich Vase Collection. The vases illustrate the wide range of forms created by Greek potters and provide an exemplary overview of the development of manufacturing techniques and decoration over a period of seven centuries (8th to 2nd century BC) and from the various production centres of the Greek world. Thus, the vessels not only convey information about life in antiquity as utensils, but their images also tell of the mythical world and everyday life of ancient people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Housed in a Baroque monastery complex, the International Ceramics Museum is a branch of the Neue Sammlung M\u00fcnchen. Permanent exhibitions at several of Munich’s state museums \u2013 the State Archaeological Collection, the Museum of Five Continents, the Neue Sammlung and the State Collections of Antiquities \u2013 present ceramics of the highest quality from a wide variety of cultures and periods. The branch museum in Weiden also has its own collection of Chinese porcelain. In addition, changing special exhibitions on various topics are shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
