The Long Night of Munich Museums
Location : Beide Häuser am Königsplatz

The Long Night of Munich Museums will take place on Saturday, 16 October 2021. We, too, will open the Glyptothek and the State Collections of Classical Antiquities from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., even longer than in previous years, in order to attract as many visitors as possible, even in times of pandemic. Our directors and conservators will present highlights from the collection in short guided tours.

Tickets for the Long Night of the Museums can only be purchased online this year via → München Ticket in advance.

The regular ticket price for the Long Night of Museums is 17.90 euros.

Medusa Rondanini

Gorgo Medusa is one of the most horrible creatures of Greek myth. Looking at her turned every mortal into stone. Marble copy dating from the Roman period of Medusa’s head on the shield of the statue of Athena in the Parthenon around 440 B.C.

Barberini Faun

The tall drunken satyr, a male nature spirit with ears and a tail of a horse, was probably set up outside in a sanctuary of Dionysos. It is one of the major works of Hellenistic sculpture, around 220 B.C.
