In close cooperation with the Museum Educational Centre Munich (→ MPZ) and Munich's Adult Education Centre (→ MVHS) the staff of the museums on Königsplatz have developed an extensive programme for children over the past years. Possible activities range from guided tours with subsequent creative activities to arranging children's birthday parties right through to workshops lasting several days in which the participants can immerse themselves in ancient culture through play.
Many of the children's activities are offered on a fixed regular basis, others can be booked on request.
Guided Tours
Children's Days
Twice a year (March/November) we organise children's days in the State Collections of Antiques. In short guided tours followed by a quiz the participants learn all sorts of interesting things about the Ancient World. With exciting games, join-in activities and creative workshops they gain deeper insight into the lives of the ancient Greeks and Romans. They can cast a deity in plaster, lay mosaics, make theatre masks or weave a garland of ivy for the god of festivity, Dionysus. Also, if the weather is fine, we generally hold an ancient sports day on Königsplatz.

Periodic programmes are being organized as one-week → workshops during the summer holidays or as one-day workshops, sometimes with the cooperation of other institutions through the → MPZ.
